Tour brings American Ethanol awareness to grassroots of racing

Rochester Hills, Michigan (February 23, 2016) - The American Ethanol Late Model Tour (AELMT) will begin the second year of operations for the 2016 racing season. As the tour continues to grow and prosper with larger purses and point funds while visiting some of the most versatile dirt tracks in the State of Michigan, the next step in the evolution of the tour is the need for an officiating staff to oversee race day operations. In order to reach the next level of professionalism and consistency to carry out all AELMT procedures and rules,

Motor City Racing Promotions (MCRP), based out of Rochester Hills, Michigan, has been hired to manage race day operations for the 2016 racing season. Led by MCRP President, Scott Menlen, MCRP will bring in a full team of officials that will oversee all aspects of race day operations including; race control, live timing and scoring, lineups, pre/post-race activities and media.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to bring a new level of professionalism to this already great tour.” stated Menlen as he and his team at MCRP prepare for their foray into the 2016 racing season with AELMT. “Our team of industry professionals is looking forward to serving AELMT teams and fans throughout this highly anticipated second season. We can’t wait for the season opener at Winston Speedway [on Friday, May 27th]. It’ll be here before we know it.”

“This is very exciting news for the Tour. We accomplished some great things in 2015 by building good relationships with tracks, race teams and the fans. Our second season, we plan to build on the momentum we have and take things to the next level. Having Scott and the MCRP Team come on board with us is a big step in the right direction. We want this Tour to be the premier series in Michigan that everyone is talking about and having a professional crew running the race operations helps us accomplish that.” stated Tour Director, Nick Rice. “Having the race operations handled by Scott and his team will be a big change for me personally. This will free me up to engage more people at the track about what American Ethanol is all about and what it stands for and that was the idea behind starting the American Ethanol Late Model Tour. Taking what Growth Energy had built with NASCAR and bring it back to the grassroots of racing.”

Motor City Racing Promotions was founded to be the sanctioning body of the Midwest Indoor Racing Series (MIRS). In addition to MIRS, Motor City Racing Promotions is also the proud promoter of events at Dixie Motor Speedway such as, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Dixie 100, the Fall Eve of Destruction and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Cabin Fever 100 at the Springport Motor Speedway.
