American Ethanol Modified Tour Presented by Allstar Performance Comes to Life in 2017

Two events confirmed at Merritt Speedway. Remainder of 2017 schedule is “To Be Announced”

Rochester Hills, Michigan (Tuesday, December 6, 2016): There’s a new touring series on the horizon for DIRTcar UMP Modifieds teams throughout the Midwestern United States that is set to begin in 2017. After the rousing success of the American Ethanol Late Model Tour (AELMT) in just two seasons of touring dirt tracks throughout the state of Michigan, officials from the AELMT along-with Motor City Racing Promotions (MCRP) are proud to announce a new venture beginning with the 2017 racing season; the all new American Ethanol Modified Tour presented by Allstar Performance.

Scott Menlen, MCRP Founder/President, along with Nick Rice, AELMT Director, have joined forces once again and hot off the success of the AELMT have formed a brand new tour catering to DIRTcar UMP Modifieds. In the process, the all new American Ethanol Modified Tour presented by Allstar Performance fills a gap in the Great Lakes region of the United States by providing a touring series for some of the premier dirt Modified drivers in the country. The Tour begins on high ground armed with title sponsorship from Lake Odessa, Michigan based Carbon Green BioEnergy, founder of the AELMT, as well as presenting sponsorship from Watervliet, Michigan based Allstar Performance.

“Our entire Motor City Racing Promotions team is excited about this new opportunity for the Modified teams. The high talent level of dirt modified drivers in our region is unquestionable and we wanted to be sure they have an opportunity to showcase their talent on a touring series level.” offered Menlen. “I think American Ethanol Modified Tour presented by Allstar Performance events are going to be circled as must see races on dirt racing fan’s 2017 calendars.” he added.

“We’re excited to have the opportunity to extend our brand as well as secure the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and have a competitive series to race.” added Rice. “We’re honored to be able to pick up where the iconic Michigan Dirt Cup Modifieds left off and excited to put on some of the best racing around. Having the Late Models and the Modifieds both under our American Ethanol umbrella just makes sense for us and we are thrilled to have the opportunity.” he added.

One of the highlighted dates on the 2017 American Ethanol Modified Tour presented by Allstar Performance schedule includes a huge combination event with their big brother counterpart in the American Ethanol Late Model Tour. On Wednesday, June 14th, the 3rd Annual Merritt Showdown at the fast ¼ (0.250) mile semi-banked clay oval of Merritt Speedway, located west of Houghton Lake in Lake City, Michigan will feature both American Ethanol title sponsored tours together for an historic night of racing in Northern Michigan.

A second trip to Merritt Speedway will see the AEMODS highlight the fourth of July holiday weekend on a special Monday, July 3rd in the Inaugural Merritt Modified Madness. A huge $10,000 to win payday will be up for grabs in one of the highest paying events for Modifieds in the country.  As for the rest of the 2017 schedule, it is being worked on with dates at prominent facilities throughout the state of Michigan as well as in the neighboring Great Lakes states of Indiana and Ohio. A full schedule of events is in the works and as soon as those dates and facilities are finalized, they will be announced as the complete 2017 schedule for the American Ethanol Modified Tour presented by Allstar Performance.

“We are pumped to partner with American Ethanol and Motor City Racing Promotions to offer the Modified racers from our region a professionally-run, high-quality series.” stated John Berglund, Advertising and Publications Manager for Allstar Performance. “We have worked with both Scott and Nick’s groups in the past and are very excited to work with them to take this to the next level. The mod racers from our region are some of the best in the nation and will have a chance to showcase their talent and equipment to an even larger audience.” he ended.
