Michigan's Spangler Eyes Elusive American Ethanol Tour Title

November 22, 2017

Excerpt from Dirt On Dirt Story (Tuesday, November 21, 2017):

Eric Spangler would love to capture the American Ethanol Late Model Tour title. While the Lake City, Michigan, driver came up shy in 2017, he's not hanging his head in defeat after a sterling 21 victory season. The 48-year-old standout is already looking ahead to 2018.

The 2017 Season was among the busiest of Spangler's more than 30-year career. Kicking off the year in late March, the Michigan driver raced through early November, notching 44 top-five finishes in 53 starts. Closing the season with 21 victories, including wins on the America Ethanol Tour...

"There's probably 10-12 drivers in the state of Michigan that can every week go out and win those Ethanol races. ... The drivers, most of them are respectful of each other. We race hard, but we respect each other's equipment and stuff. I think that's worked real well. It just makes you a better driver racing with those guys every week."  - Eric Spangler
